Captain | Troy Forshaw
Although a young Master 3000T Yacht in comparative terms, Troy brings a range of experiences normally only found in much older colleagues, having started his boating life in his family’s fishing charter business in New Zealand, at the tender age of 8.
Over the last 13 years, Troy has carried out numerous Atlantic crossings, and has an extensive knowledge of the best places for Charter, both in the Mediterranean resorts, and the Bahamas, Caribbean through to Miami.
He also spent 3 years as a Dive Guide, so understands guests requirements are not always above the water, and so can help and assist to make sure their time onboard is both enjoyable and educational.
If you were to list his interests which would include Wakeboarding, Fishing, Spearfishing, you’d understand that Troy likes nothing better than being on the water, and this enthusiasm often transfers to his crew and guests.
Chief Stewardess | Zara Muhic
Having originally trained in Law, Zara began her yachting career 6 years ago, and has been working as a Chief Stewardess since 2013. With her skills including Silver Service and Floral Arrangements, combined with her keen eye for detail, friendly demeanour and positive attitude, she’s well equipped with the qualities needed in order to provide a high level of service for guests on a luxury yacht of the style of MY BASH. Zara is fluent in English, Italian, Croatian and has a basic working of Spanish, and her interests are Pilates and Zumba, travelling and seeing new places, and Environmental Care, which all work well onboard a yacht.
Second Stewardess | Samantha Frank
Born in Chicago, Sam joined MY BASH after having enjoyed 5 years on yachts, and a number of roles including Chief Stewardess on similar sized yachts, so is a very capable assistant to Zara in the Interior team. Her skills include Fine Dining/Silver Service, Nanny Services and even Tender Driving, and again suiting to life on a yacht, her interests include everything on and in the water. Sam has a bubbly personality, and in her own words “she loves meeting new people”, so guests will feel immediately welcome and at ease in her presence.
Third Stewardess | Dina Bilalic
Dina is a strong team player with exceptional interpersonal skills, and her role on board is to support the Service team and Housekeeping. She too has a full working knowledge of English, Italian and Croatian, and like other members in h
er team, loves everything about the sea. Dina is very communicative, a hard worker, and you’ll often see her putting in extra hours to support her team if and when needed.
Stewardess | Marina Kalandadze
Marina is the ‘older sister’ of the Interior Team, and often guests will never see her as she spends most of her time in the laundry and ironing room, making sure that all guests have the clothes they want to wear, clean, ironed and at the right time. She has many years experience, a lovely cheerful personality, and will only ever be seen with a smile on her face, no matter how hard she’s working.
Chief Officer | Sergii Ivanov
Sergii grew up in Georgia and Ukraine. He’s a strong sports enthusiast, having particular affection for arm-wrestling and crossfit. He has a degree in Sport Science and Nutritional Therapy, skill and passion for fitness which allowed him to live and work in the most amazing places in the world: Hawaii, New Zealand, Zimbabwe; he also worked for Princess Cruises for 5 years as a Health Educator/ Fitness Director. Sergii followed his childhood dream to become a captain, gaining a degree in Nautical Sciences he joined the merchant navy as an officer. Later on he moved to yachts and now combines extensive yacht, commercial and cruise ship experience Sergii loves Alaska, dog sledding on a glacier and diving with whales being his most memorable experiences.
Chief Engineer – Vasyl Berezovsky
Vasyl was born and grew up in Ukraine. He comes from a long family tradition of mechanics and engineers. Since a young age having worked alongside his father on heavy duty machinery and diesel engines, he acquired his mechanical skills early in life. He has been in yachting for almost 20 years now, working on both sail and motor yachts of up to 75m in length. Vasyl is fascinated with the culture of the Ecuador native tribes of Quechua, where he lived with the Quechua communities, learnt their traditions, food and customs. He now resides in Palma de Mallorca with his wife and kids. He speaks Spanish, English and Russian.
Second Engineer | Gregor Drysdale
Gregor was born and raised in Glasgow, Scotland. He studied Marine Mechanical Engineering, worked on Offshore Supply Vessels in Scotland and later moved on to yachting, as he loves to meet new people and travel to the world’s most gorgeous locations. Greg loves playing squash and used to be one of the top players in Scotland. Caribbean is his favourite destination for yacht cruising, for personal travelling he prefers South East Asia. When not working in the Engine room Gregor will often be found in the garage assisting the deck crew with the water sport activities.
Bosun | Brandon Andrews
Brandon joined us from being a Bosun onboard a 70m Benetti, where he has spent the last 3 years (including six Atlantic crossings) so brings a wealth of experience to the team.
Deckhand | Michael Leonard
Mike is from Stockport, Manchester. He is an avid watersports enthusiast. He has a diploma in Outdoor Leisure, several RYA qualifications, UKCC Level 1 coach in kayak and canoe. Mike worked in a watersports centre in Scotland for 3 years, later another 3.5 years as a jetski/jetpack and powerboat training facility in England moving up to a manager position in his final year. He then ventured off onto the big boats, joining the iconic MY Cloud 9 last year and now becoming a strong member of our deck team. Mike loves kitesurfing, preferably over a coral reef just off a tropical island.
Deckhand | Gareth Imrie
Gareth is the youngest member of our team. Born and raised on a game farm in Zimbabwe, Gareth appreciates the Power and Beauty of Nature. He has a keen eye and the skill for photography. On his father’s Tuna Fishing Boat they have done a lot of deep sea fishing along the eastern coast of Africa from Mozambique all the way to Tanzania. Gareth joined his first yacht in 2016 an
d by now, although young, he is a skilled seaman and our fishing expert. His favourite film is ‘Lion King’, Hakuna Matata is in his blood.
Head Chef | Tobias Emmert
Tobias was born and grew up in Stuttgart, Germany. He was 15 when he started jobbing in the first restaurants besides school and after moving to Aschaffenburg, Germany, Tobias started his 3 year culinary training in one of the best training hotels in Bavaria.
After he finished his apprenticeship, awarded by the government for exceptional grades, he moved to Frankfurt and started working for Sheraton. Willing to gather more experience and knowledge, he soon moved on to become a freelance chef to work for several renowned 5 star hotels, such as Steigenberger, Westin Grand and a couple of famous wineyards. Tobias also did work for Michelin Star awarded chefs at their events and several executive kitchens in banks.
In 2011 he decided to move on to the yachts and he is now looking back at almost 8 years of yachting experience. His cooking styles are always suited to the needs of the guests and clients and he is capable of covering a big bandwidth of styles and cuisines such as French, Italian, Mediterranean, Sushi, Indian, Mexican, German and Thai. Baking bread and offering all kinds of desserts are part of the repertoire, too. As are adjusting to dietary and allergic needs.
